Instant Family, the movie that tells the story of a couple who adopt a 15-year-old girl and her little brother and sister from foster care, is now streaming on digital and Blu-ray.
The film is based on director Sean Ander’s experience of adopting three children from foster care.
“We went through some really tough times…But so much of what we went through was also funny. I thought, couldn’t we make a comedy to show how this really works?” Anders told us.
From the beginning, Anders involved child welfare professionals, young people who had been in care, and parents who had adopted—including casting actors and employing crew members who had been in care. The result is a film that feels authentic and has been resonating with families since its release last November.
